My apartment in Penang commands a panoramic view of Taman Pekaka, Taman Lip Sin, Bukit Jambul, Bayan Baru and beyond. On a clear day, I could see planes landing and taking off at the Bayan Lepas International Airport in the distance. On stormy days like this, I like to watch lightning streak down from the clouds in a blinding flash followed by a thunderous clap. It is a reminder of the awesome power of nature.
